Fulham manager Marco Silva has stated that he will support Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday.
Iwobi and Bassey have been instrumental in Nigeria’s run to the championship final.
Midfielder Iwobi has played in all six of Nigeria’s competitive games, while Bassey has made five appearances.
The Super Eagles will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final on Sunday at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.
Silva revealed he has missed the services of the two players, but is cheering for them to win the AFCON championship.
“Of course, we have been watching. It’s a mixed feeling for us. It’s been a long time without two key players for us. Right now, we are supporting them in the final,” Silva told a press conference ahead of Fulham’s clash with Bournemouth.
