The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disputed accusations that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is withholding payment of match bonuses and allowances owed to the Super Eagles at the current 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
According to recent reports, the CBN is delaying payments of match bonuses and allowances to Jose Peseiro’s men.
However, the NFF’s General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, stated on Tuesday that the Nigerian football giant has not suffered any delays from the CBN.
“It is unfair for anyone to concoct lies against the institution for whatever reasons,” NFF’s statement partly reads.
“We have not experienced any delays or complication of processes at the CBN this time, and we give kudos to them for their diligence and great sense of duty.”
