Idris Okuneye, a Nigerian cross-dresser better known as Bobrisky, has sued online activist and critic VeryDarkMan for a recording that was shared on his social media pages.
Bobrisky was heard on tape reportedly paying N15 million to members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in order to get a money laundering accusation against him dropped.
The recording also named Nigerian Correctional Service personnel who permitted Bobrisky to serve his six-month sentence outside of a prison.
Bobrisky claims the audio was produced by artificial intelligence (AI) and has renounced it. Bobrisky’s legal team ordered that VeryDarkMan remove the audio clip, publish a public apology in two national newspapers, and create a video apology that would be published on all social media platforms in a letter that was posted on his social media page.
In addition, the lawsuit requests that VeryDarkMan stop posting disparaging information about Bobrisky and promptly pay N1 billion in damages.
