The injury occurred during a 2-2 draw against Arsenal, with Rodri sustaining a tear in his right knee. A more definitive diagnosis will be available later on Monday, and Rodri is set to undergo tests in Spain.
The Spaniard suffered the injury after contesting Arsenal’s Thomas Partey for the ball inside his own penalty area.
He is currently travelling to Madrid for a new examination to confirm the serious injury and plans to visit several specialists to make a decision regarding the operation.
Rodri’s absence will be a significant loss for Manchester City, as his influence has helped them win their last four Premier League titles.
