Chidimma Vannesa Adetshina, the current Miss Universe Nigeria winner, shared her heartfelt experience in South Africa

Chidimma Vannesa Adetshina, the current Miss Universe Nigeria winner, revealed that she was unable to compete in the Miss South Africa contest due to nationality issues and allegations of identity theft against her mother by the South African Home Affairs department.

Chidinma stated in an interview that her name was the reason South Africans rejected her.

She said “South Africans felt like I was not South African enough because of my name and it was really hard to see.

“It was a very horrible experience, and I would not wish it on anybody because I have lived there for 23 years.

“It is heartbreaking to see that I was not welcomed and accepted.”

The beauty queen, who was accused of identity theft against her mother, has declined to comment on the matter. She stated that the matter is still a legal matter and she won’t comment on it. She clarified that she was born in South Africa and remains proudly Nigerian, despite the allegations against her mother.
