The Council of State gives Tinubu a vote of confidence

Members of the Council of State, which is made up of former Chief Justices of the Federation, Presidents, and Heads of State, gave President Bola Tinubu a vote of confidence on Tuesday.

The Council of State meeting on Tuesday is the first that Tinubu has chaired since taking office.

The latest #EndBadGovernance demonstrations were denounced by the council members, who believed that their sponsors, Dele Alake, the minister of solid minerals development, had dark agendas and were trying to bring about a change in administration.

Alake gave a briefing to State House Correspondents regarding the meeting’s outcome.

Former presidents Abdulsalami Abubakar and Yakubu Gowon participated remotely at the meeting, as did Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari.

Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president, did not participate online or in person.
