According to Spotify, popular vocalists Tems and Ayra Starr are the most streamed Nigerian musicians.
This was revealed in the list of the top 30 songs from Nigeria that were released in the first half of 2024 by the international music streaming service Spotify.
The song “Santa,” which Ayra Starr co-wrote with Rauw Alejandro, showcased her domination.
With her solo hit “Comma,” she took second place, and Tems came in third with “Love Me Jeje.”
Another Vibe by Luciano and Omah Lay came in fourth place, Metro Booming Just Like Me by Burna Boy and Savage took fifth place in terms of streams, and Tyla and Tems’s No. 1 came in sixth.
At a press briefing in Lagos on Wednesday, Spotify Head of Music Sub-Saharan Africa Phiona Okumu added, “The list recognised Nigerian most listened to tracks from outside the country between January 1 and June 30 2024.”
