United offers Matthijs de Ligt a five-year contract

Manchester United has extended a five-year contract offer to Matthijs de Ligt, the defender for Bayern Munich.

Sky Germany reports that De Ligt is eager to relocate.

Additionally, it’s thought that United and Bayern have had preliminary discussions to discuss the terms of a possible agreement.

Working with De Ligt at Ajax, Erik ten Hag hopes to have the defender in his team at Old Trafford for the upcoming campaign.

With add-ons, Bayern values the 24-year-old at €50 million (£42.4 million).

Nonetheless, United is still interested in England defender Jarrad Branthwaite and will reapply for the player only if Everton lowers their asking price.
