Ian Maatsen, a left-back, was acquired by Aston Villa from Chelsea for £37.5 million on a six-year deal.
Maatsen, who will be Unai Emery’s second summer acquisition, is presently playing for the Netherlands in Euro 2024.
After assisting Borussia Dortmund in winning the championship, the 22-year-old was included in the Champions League Team of the Season.
The left-back had a fantastic stint at Dortmund on loan in the latter half of the previous campaign.
Maatsen played in 16 Bundesliga games and seven Champions League games, scoring a goal in the team’s quarterfinal victory over Atletico Madrid.
