Bobrisky declares in court, “I am a man,” as he prepares to do time at Ikoyi Prison

Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, often referred to as Bobrisky, is a controversial social media celebrity and transvestite who acknowledged being a male prior to receiving a prison term.

According to News Men, Bobrisky was given a six-month jail term without the possibility of a fine for misusing the Naira, the currency of Nigeria.

Bobrisky instantly said, “I am a man,” when the judge queried him about his sex before the punishment was handed out.

The judge decided that the sentence would start on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest, and he was remanded to spend his jail term in the Ikoyi Correctional Center.

The Federal High Court in Lagos’s Justice Abimbola Awogboro, who imposed the sentence, said that it was important to prevent future abuse and mutilation of Naira acts.

Remember that on April 5, Bobrisky was found guilty on four counts of naira abuse that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, had brought against him.

Aja Junction in Ikorodu; White Steve Event Hall in Ikeja; an event hall in Oniru, Victoria Island; and an Imax Circle Mall in Jakande, Lekki, all contained incidences in which Bobrisky was suspected of tampering with N400,000 between 2022 and 2023.
