UK prohibits foreign healthcare professionals from bringing dependents

The UK has prohibited international health and care professionals from Nigeria and other nations from bringing their dependents into the nation. This was declared in a statement made public on Monday, March 11 by the UK Home Office.

The UK government stated that the action was a component of its strategy to lessen immigration to the nation, noting that in the year that ended on September 23, around 120,000 dependents were brought to the UK by foreign caregivers.

The statement reads: “From today, care workers entering the UK on Health and Care Worker visas can no longer bring dependants. This is part of our plan to deliver the biggest ever cut in migration.”

Remember that the UK Home Office had said on Tuesday, January 2, that it will start enforcing its policy prohibiting students from Nigeria and other foreign countries from bringing in dependents through study visas.
