According to former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, President Bola Tinubu has performed admirably for the nation considering the conditions that existed when he came into office in May 2023.
Speaking on Sunday, March 10, in Daura, Katsina state, during his reception with the comptroller-general and members of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) management team, Buhari noted that leading Nigeria is a difficult task for anyone. He urged Nigerians to put up with the nation’s economic suffering to support the policies and initiatives of the current government.
Buhari said “I thank you very much for coming. I very much appreciate it. I thought Tinubu has done very well. Nigeria is so complex. Really, there isn’t much anybody can do.”
Some Nigerians have harshly criticized President Tinubu for the policies his administration has implemented, most notably the elimination of the fuel subsidy and the unification of the currency rate, which have resulted in skyrocketing inflation and terrible economic conditions.
