PDP chairman: “I hope a woman becomes president”

It is the hope of the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagum, that a woman will be the future president of Nigeria.

Damagum made this statement on Friday, March 8, at the PDP International Women’s Day 2024 event held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking via the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, Damagum said that individuals in positions of authority have consistently let Nigerians down.

He said “The significance of mothers and the role of women cannot be overstated. Let me be sincere with you, I pray and hope that, even if not in our generation, one day a woman will become the president of this country. I say this with utmost sincerity and from the depth of my heart because I believe that the men have failed this generation.”
