Olumide Akpata, a former national president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has emerged as the Edo State governorship candidate for the Labour Party (LP).
The state capital of Benin City hosted the LP primary on Friday, and Akpata emerged victorious.
Akpata received 316 votes, defeating other candidates in a landslide victory.
He was proclaimed the victor of the primary after receiving the most votes.
