Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck split up months after their postponed wedding

Jennifer Lopez, an American music artist, has disclosed that she and her actor husband, Ben Affleck, did not break their relationship on the day they postponed their 2003 wedding.

During an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, the singer-songwriter confessed that, while their choice to cancel the wedding may have foreshadowed difficulty in their relationship, they remained together for some time thereafter, attempting to repair their bond.

She further said that the wedding delay generated concern in both herself and Ben about “what our relationship was and where it was going”, even though she knew she wanted to be with him forever, she was concerned that their marriage would not last.

Lopez also stated that they were not “mature” enough to make the relationship work despite their constant tries. She also revealed that they were under the assumption that people break up when “things get tough,” so they parted ways.

The singer went on to say that they both needed to find love and have families with other people before they could truly work on being a relationship again.

Lopez stated that she and Ben both felt more confidence in themselves as people when they reconnected, and this time the relationship appears to be lasting, with the two planning to marry in 2022.
